What is Flossing?

Dental floss is made from a very thin strip of nylon or plastic. It is used to clean the space in between teeth, where a toothbrush can not reach.

To floss, you take an adequate amount of the dental floss, wrap the ends securely around your fingers and slowly work the thread between the gap of each teeth. This will help to dislodge any leftover food and to break up any build up of plaque. Each time you move onto the next tooth, use a clean section of the dental floss so that you are not contaminating the area.
